This blog contains ongoing updates and news about his HABS, HAER, and HALS photo projects all over the country focusing on large scale historic districts like the Market Street Cultural Landscape District in San Francisco and university campuses like Cornell University in Ithaca New York. It also follows his ongoing smaller HABS and HAER projects, events, lectures and other matters of interest in the heritage documentation world. Schafer has dedicated his career to documenting our inherited environment, with hundreds of completed projects to his credit and over one thousand negatives in the Library of Congress.\u00a0He specializes in archival, large-format, black-and-white documentation photography, adhering to the Secretary of the Interior&#8217;s Standards for Architectural and Engineering Documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His HABS\/HAER\/HALS photography work is a testament to his love of the built environment, showcasing everything from the soaring heights of historic skyscrapers to the depths of newly bored subway tunnels.&nbsp;His work is contributed to the prestigious HABS, HAER, and HALS collections at the Library of Congress.
