I was honored to have my photos of the Pacific Telephone Building chosen for the spring 2014 issue of Heritage News. They published images on the front cover and inside from my 2012 HABS documentation of the building prior to the skyscraper being rehabbed in to modern offices.
Built in 1925 and designed by Timothy Pflueger, the 26-story Art Deco tower for the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company was one of the first modern skyscrapers in San Francisco. All photos from the two-day documentation were donated to the Historic American Buildings Survey collections of the National Park Service in Washington DC. These surveys are accessible on the Library of Congress HABS collection pages along with building, engineering and landscape surveys dating back to the 1930s.
